The Seminar – Inclusive Education: Challenges in Responding to Diversity, promoted by ISEC Lisboa, will take place on May 31 at the Lumiar Campus. It is organized as part of the Post-Graduation in Special Education in the Cognitive and Motor Domain. This seminar aims to discuss the importance of strengthening the link between education professionals, students, other professionals and society, in a shared and humanized way that defends the right to education and access and participation in all contexts, without barriers of any kind.
The opening session will be attended by the President of ISEC Lisboa, Cristina Ventura, the Director of the School of Education and Human Development, Rui Fonseca, the Coordinator of the Postgraduate Course in Special Education in the Cognitive and Motor Domain, represented by Patrícia Pacheco, and guest speaker David Sousa, Director-General of Education.
The two conferences will feature speakers Luís Capucha, Full Professor at ISCTE – UL and Researcher at ISCTE -UL’s Center for Research and Studies in Sociology, who will address the theme “Without Special Education, there is no Inclusive Education”, and Maria do Céu Roldão, Coordinating Professor with an Aggregation in Education – Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, who will talk about “Education and Inclusion – the ends, the means and some paradoxes”.
