Romances que nos (Co)movem” (Novels that Move Us) was the second literary gathering of the #ISECaler project, promoted by ISEC Lisboa. It took place on the morning of April 23rd in the Hélder Pita Auditorium at the Lumiar Academic Campus.
The event featured authors Vera dos Reis Valente, Lígia Dantas, and Gabriela Ruivo, and was moderated by Maria João Covas, a librarian professor who has been responsible for the “Livros? Gosto!” (Books? I Like It!) reading club on YouTube for four years.
In a relaxed conversation, this gathering navigated the world of literature, with a special focus on the authors’ novels. Vera dos Reis Valente spoke about her debut novel, Amar em Caso de Emergência (Loving in Case of Emergency), where love is so sought after, so desired, that it seems to become ever more distant. Lígia Dantas piqued everyone’s curiosity to read the not-always-romantic novel Culpada (Guilty), and Gabriela Ruivo presented a novel where time is subject to the Law of Gravity.
At the end of the session, there was time for a Q&A (Questions and Answers) where ISEC Lisboa students could clarify doubts or curiosities with the authors. This was followed by a networking and autograph session, which included the participation of the Super Livro Bookstore.
