Organised by the National Erasmus+ Education and Training Agency and the Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE), the 1st Iberian Internationalisation Meeting brought together more than 120 representatives from higher education institutions in Portugal and Spain, with the aim of discussing and promoting internationalisation in the education sector. On 30 September and 1 October 2024, Dr Noémia Justino, Coordinator of the International Relations Office, represented ISEC Lisbon at this important meeting, held at the Gambelas Campus of the University of Algarve.
During the meeting, various internationalisation strategies were discussed, aimed at attracting international students and researchers, as well as developing strategic academic partnerships. The working sessions highlighted innovative digital communication practices and methods for promoting higher education, in line with the goals of a more inclusive and globalised education. The speech by the Director of the National Erasmus+ Agency, Ana Cristina Perdigão, enriched the discussions on collaboration and the exchange of good practices.
Participation in the event reinforced ISEC Lisbon’s commitment to actively participate in creating a more connected and global higher education network. Noémia Justino highlighted the importance of exchanging ideas between institutions, stating that the experience was extremely valuable for discussing challenges and exploring new opportunities for promoting internationalisation in higher education.
