On February 9th, a meeting of the Project’s Advisory Board took place at the Directorate-General of School Administration (DGAE), a partner entity of the Teaching To Be project, with the presence of the following members: Dr. Maria José Barrela and Dr. Fernando Alexandre, from DGAE; Dr. Filinto Lima, Director of the Gaia School Association and President of the National Association of Directors of School Clusters and Public Schools (ANDAEP); Dr. Rodrigo Queirós e Melo, President of the Association of Private and Cooperative Education Establishments and a professor at the Portuguese Catholic University, Lisbon; Dr. Álvaro Almeida, Former Director of the Gaia School Association and a member of ANDAEP; Dr. Patrícia Pacheco and Dr. José Reis Jorge from ISEC Lisboa.
The main objective of this meeting was the presentation of the project’s development up to the present moment. Following this presentation, made by the ISEC Lisboa team, a debate was initiated about the difficulties, challenges, and sustainability of the project. The discussion proved relevant so that, at the end of the project, a set of recommendations can be defined to be presented to the Portuguese educational authorities regarding teachers’ professional well-being, with a view to improving teachers’ professional development and the quality of teaching and learning.
